Jaeho Hwang
Jaeho Hwang is a South Korean music producer and visual artist who is inspired by the Buddhist concept of impermanent selfhood. His music combines dark industrial club beats and samples with traditional Korean instruments like the piri bamboo flute or the stringed kayagum. On his debut EP ‘Non-Self / 비자아’ (Chinabot), he explores his sense of identity in the digital age through the Buddhist concept of ‘anatta’, or non-self: the belief that there is no unchanging, permanent soul or essence in living beings.
